After some time the Sardarji came Booiiiinnnnnnnnnn... in the opposite direction, peeped into the car and shouted again 'Kabhi Honda chalaya kya?' and sped off, This time the Bihari was annoyed , since the sardar was teasing about his driving. After some time again the Sardar came back speeding and said the same thing peeping into the car . The Bihari was about to say something but the Sardar sped off. This time the Bihari increased his speed but suddenly stopped as he found the Sardar lying on the road, bleeding. He got down and mocked at the sardar' Kyon Sardarji , 'Kabhi Honda chalaya kya?' Getting down on all fours and imitating a rhinoceros stops babies from crying. (Put an empty cigarette pack on your nose for a horn and make loud "snort" noises.) I don't know why parents don't do this more often. Usually it makes the kid laugh. Sometimes it sends him into shock. Either way it quiets him down. If you're a parent, acting like a rhino has another advantage. Keep it up until the kid is a teenager and he definitely won't have his friends hanging around your house all the time.

And then he voted. My wife and I were trying to find a carry-on suitcase in one of those huge discount stores and had become hopelessly lost. We stopped and asked a department manager where we might find suitcases. "Did you try in Luggage?" she asked, and returned to what she was doing. And then she voted. I couldn't find my luggage at the airport baggage area. So I went to thelost luggage office and told the woman there that my bags never showed up. She smiled and told me not to worry because they were trained professionals and I was in good hands. "Now," she asked me, "has your plane arrived yet?" And then she voted.

Srirangapatna, Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary, Melkote, Somanathapur, Talakad, Bandipur National Park and Tiger Reserve, Cauvery Fishing Camp, Nagarhole National Park, Biligiri Rangana Betta are a few places around Mysore worth visiting.

Found this hmmm Isn’t it interesting that you can spend all day wandering through the busy streets of Manhattan without anyone noticing you, and yet anyone you pass on a hiking trail will not only notice you but usually will pause to find out where you’ve been and where you are headed? The street is anonymous—people passing in a hurry to get somewhere else. There are far too many people to even consider engaging in a conversation. You would never get anywhere. Loneliness flourishes in large crowds. But I have yet to pass anyone on a hiking trail who didn’t stop and talk at least briefly. The camaraderie of the trails is immediate, even if you are not likely to see each other again. For those brief moments the help and insight two people can share can make a huge difference. ============================================ Watching a flock of Canada geese fly over in precise V-formation is an enthralling sight? How do you suppose they do that? Do they attend V-formation flying school when they are young? I can just see a older goose projecting a Powerpoint presentation against a birch tree and explaining to the younger birds that they must fly two feet to the outside wing of the goose in front of them, one foot behind and eighteen inches above its flight path so it will impress the humans below. No, geese fly in a V-formation because flying in that exact spot allows them to fly in smoother air with less effort. If a goose falls out of position it immediately feels the added stress of flying on its own and moves pack into position. Scientists estimate that by drafting on the wake of the goose in front of them the entire flock is able to fly 71% further than each of them could fly individually. To accomplish this incredible feat the stronger birds in the flock will rotate the lead position so that no one bird wears out. Hectic Holidays : Friday : Read "Deception Point " , Vehicle puja , sweets hmmm. Saw " Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa" . Very very good music . Saw Ladder 49 ... Not worth Rs 15/.(Rent) Saturday :Went to a naming ceremony . Authentic South Indian lunch .hmmm. Got a DVD for my uncle , my friend picked up Friends Season 9 , 21 episodes cool .Went to see " Dhoom " , ok movie with some good songs. Sunday : Trip to a place called Kaivara, 75 kms from Bangalore.The main attraction in Kaivara is the Amaranarayana temple with its beautiful architecture. It has a Navaranga Mantapa with four intricately sculpted stone pillars. To the left is a small shrine where Lord Rama resides along with Sita and Lakshmana. Lord Rama is known as 'Aranya Rama'. Temples dedicated to 'Bheemeshwara', 'Na-kuleshwara', and 'Sahadeveshwa-ra’ are other attractions. About a kilometre from the Mutt ashram, on a small hill named 'Vaikunta', is a small cave temple dedicated to Yoganara-simha Swamy where Kaivara Nareyanappa was in meditation for more than three years. A statue of Nareyanappa has been installed here. Adjacent to the temple, a magnificent structure with a spacious prayer hall has been built. One can have a beautiful view of the hills from here. We bargained and got a full basket of ripe guavas for Rs 20 /- . Cucumbers sliced , with green chillies , sluuuuuuuurp. Then off to Nandi Hills , the sunset was just amazing... Looking forward to my next loong weekend ( Psst its this week ... Nov 1st is a HOLIDAY )

He makes the entire film become not only believable but alive with pure style. THE DEATH OF KRISHNA

Do you know how Krishna died ? Read on and be educated. In Dwarka, Sages Vishvamitra, Kanva and Narada paid a visit. Some younsters made a boy dress like a woman. They went to rishis and asked, this woman is pregnant and kindly tells us whether she will give birth to a boy or a girl. The Rishis, did not appreciate the sense of humour of the youngsters, cursed that whatever is born to the woman shall cause the destruction of their race. The boy was hiding an iron mace in his dress to make him look like a pregnant woman. When Balarama heard about it he got the mace powdered and had it thrown away in the ocean. A small piece, which remained, was also thrown away. In the thirsty-sixth year after the war, Vrishnis went on a picnic. They all got drunk. There was a fight between Kritavarma and Satyaki who had taken opposite sides in the Great War. Soon, all took sides. They took out stems of a very strong variety of sea weed, growing at the bank of the sea and hit each other. All of them died. Son of Krishna, Satyaki and Kritavarma, all were dead. Only Krishna, Balarama and Daruka, his charioteer remained. The seaweed had grown out of the powder of the mace, which had been thrown in to the sea. Balarama went in to a yogic trance and gave away his body. He turned into a huge white serpent and slipped in to the sea. It is said that he was an incarnation of the great Serpent 'Seshanaga' the bed of Lord Vishnu. Krishna was dejected and he was lying under a tree. A hunter passing by saw him and thought him to be a deer. Krishna was wearing yellow clothes. He shot an arrow made from the pieces of mace, thrown away. The arrow entered his sole and Krishna died and left for his eternal abode. Arjuna came to Dwarka, as it was Krishna desire that all the woman and children be taken care of by the Pandavas. Vasudeva, the father of Krishna gave up his body by yoga. Some of the women went to his funeral pyres along with the bodies of their husbands. Arjuna took all the women and children with him and started for Hastinapaura. As soon as they left Dwarka, the sea engulfed it. On the way robbers seeing so many women with a single man attacked and took the women and wealth away. Arjuna’s all powers of archery and the knowledge of astras failed. In despair he went back to Yudhisthira and told him all about the Vrishnis and Krishna. The Pandavas too had their share of grief. Dhriatarastra, Gandhari, Kunti and Vidura went to the forest to live and to do penance. Vidura gave up his body while in yogic trance. Others were killed in forest fire.

FAITH

The fields were parched and brown from lack of rain, and the crops lay wilting from thirst. People were anxious and irritable as they searched the sky for any sign of relief. Days turned into arid weeks. No rain came.The ministers of the local churches called for an hour of prayer on the town square the following Saturday. They requested that everyone bring an object of faith for inspiration.At high noon on the appointed Saturday the townspeople turned out en-masse filling the square with anxious faces and hopeful hearts. From the middle of the crowd one faith symbol seemed to overshadow all the others: A small nine-year-old child had brought an umbrella. When you do something in life, have complete faith that you will definitely succeed. Never do anything with half-mind. FAITH is a great foundation to build your life...... The Incident

Well this was in the year 1998 .We were on a HIFI, top secret academic project at the Indian Space Research Organisation. The satellite we were working on was IRS-P5 (CARTOSAT-1), Which had an improved sensor system that provides 2.5 m resolution with fore-aft stereo capability. The Indian Remote Sensing Satellite P5's mission was to cater to the needs of cartographers and terrain modelling applications . In those days I had to travel for 2 hrs, from one part of Bangalore to another, to get to ISRO.To while away time,I would always carry a novel with me.One of those days ,I was reading a Robert Ludlum book and I was really captivated by the characters and the plot. I think it was the Matarese Circle . That evening , when I was returning home,I got on to a wrong bus and I landed up in another part of town.It was 7pm .I then had to catch 3 more buses to reach home. This so happens to be the infamous Banaswadi incident. Hah.

An incredibly entertaining tale written in the early 1980s and still entertaining and thrilling today as when it first came out. Read this book during the weekend .Hmm sort of ok ,the plot could've been better though. Clive's other book Raise the Titanic is a very good read.

Met all my friends at RB's place,yesterday . Here's what Sajjan had to say . Sajjan : So last week I went to Ranganathittu with my office colleagues. That evening , we came across a baby elephant standing right in the middle of the road . My colleague started honking at it. The baby elephant was a bit terrified, angry and surprised .It started making grunting sounds gurrr gurr. Thinking that its just a small elephant we tried to scare it. Suddenly we hear an angry trumpet . I think it was its mom. That scared the hell out of us. We vanished in 2 seconds flat.Poof. Hehe ....

Saw KB2 this weekend . Hmm . Viewable . Action -> Good . Uma shines . QT Rocks . Went shopping and bought a COOL 3 in one DVD : The Good , the Bad and the Ugly , A Few Dollars More and Mackenna's Gold for Rs 160 ( 3.5 dollars ) . Liked the Superman speech by Bill : "Every super-hero has an alter-ego. Batman is Bruce Wayne. Spider-Man is Peter Parker. But this is where Superman is unique. You see, Peter Parker has to put on a costume to become Spider-Man. Bruce Wayne became Batman. Superman stands alone. Superman did not become Superman, Superman was born Superman. When Superman wakes up in the morning, he is Superman. His alter ego is Clark Kent. His outfit with the big red S is the blanket he was wrapped in as a baby when the Kents found him. Those are his clothes. What Kent wears, the glasses the business suit, that's the costume. That's the costume Superman wears to blend in with us. Clark Kent is how Superman views us. And what are the characteristics of Clark Kent? He's weak, unsure of himself... he's a coward. Clark Kent is Superman's critique on the whole human race."
