Was? It isnt now?
What do you call being fair?
If people facing hardships and then finding that at the end of the day they have survived and become tougher is considered life being fair, then, I disagree.
You assume that there is a golden pot at the end of the rainbow, what if one goes through downs all through life coz he believes life is fair only to find that he has never been on the 'good-receiving-end' ? take Cameron for example.
I could go through life without having faced a single hardship. Will that mean life has been unfair to me?What if I am made of material not meant to last the kiln? Why should I get tougher if I can get by being clay?
I agree that it takes strength not to be cowed down each time life tests you and that it takes a lot to take that in your stride as a lesson learnt and perhaps that makes you a better aware person, but its not like you can leave behind the scar of the lesson taught.
Me interpreting what life throws at me as fair or unfair is my call, life doesnt mete out the same treatment to all. where's the fairness in that? And don't even get into the karma stuff with me.
If I cant control the way my life flows totally by myself , I consider life unfair.
Life, my dear, is never fair. We can only fight it in hope of setting the balances right or to snatch victory from where none seems possible coz that is what makes us human, wanting to survive, irrespective of the 'fittest' tag.
We have the tendency to convince ourselves that whatever happens to us is for the best and then we look for the best path onwards. Its like India only being defensive always. The day it takes control of the situation, then we can say its fighting life and trying to make things fair. alwa?

Tp, expecting life to treat you fairly because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge because you're a vegetarian.

If you believe in the way karma works, you might be inclined to think life is fair, by and large.

People fighting the 'unfairness' can't start out thinking life is unfair because it serves only one purpose: self pity.

Why do people think life is unfair? Because they have not seen a person for whom life has been unfairer. A poor man will think life is unfair until he sees a poor man without legs.
How many people really count their blessings and say life was more than generous to me during their good times? At that moment they savor their good life without saying life is fair. Its only when unfortunate incidents happen that they blame everything: God, destiny, parents, circumstances and life in general.

If you really consistently believe in karma you will find everything in this world fair including tsunamis and hurricanes.
