"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." “The secret of a good memory is attention, and attention to a subject depends upon ourinterest in it. We rarely forget that which has made a deep impression on our minds.”

Yeah very profound ...but u cud have used a less "profound" color on that already "profound" background. It does not make it any more profound if u reiterate rather copy paste twice!! Btw a quote should be accompanied with who said it. Hope u would add that. And what does VC stand for? Visual C?
Well Kirthi ,
the above quotes were copied from ,lets say ripped off ,from Bo Bennet's book " Year to success " and I'm not sure if anyone would dig deep to find out who Bob is or what his book is all about :)
.Oh .. well he ripped the first quote from Calvin Coolidge ( the late president of USA) and the second one from Tryon Edwards ( an author). So you could say it was "copy pasted " more than twice.
PS:You used the word profound 4 times . Oh and i almost forgot I'm color blind .
thanks for dropping by...
Well, I used "profound" in a rather exaggerated way just to drive home a point and not due to lack of words (perhaps overdid it :-P ). Anyway, thanx for providing the author's names. I am not too much into reading unless something is recommended simply because "Reading, after a certain age, diverts the mind too much from its creative pursuits. Any man who read too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking." -ALBERT EINSTEIN
Thanks for replying , Kirthi .
Are you implying that you don't read a book/article unless its been recommended ?
I strongly disagree with Mr A E .

Vc
Yes, kind of true in my case. I am quite the opposite of my parents who are voracious readers (where did the genes go they wonder!!). Perhaps, its because of my limited attention span...that's probably a "disease" that our entire generation suffers from. But I do believe that education and reading stymies free thought. Streamlined thinking is the biggest hurdle to creativity.
