Put on your Monkey Caps

I wanted to write a small story with ofcourse a twist..but it turned out even better :) ..... I sent out a draft to Kk and here's what happened .. First read the original transcript.. Monica wanted to do something different that day, so she got up early, for some 2.30am is early.It was the last day of her week long vacation and she was indeed very bored. She put on her fav blue track suit , pulled on her monkey cap and decided to go for a morning jog. As she was running around the Jubilee park she was chased by the ever vigilent street dogs and this was quite amusing to a girl who was never chased by anyone or for that matter anything. She picked up a litre of milk for her cat “lucky” and made her way back to her apartment. After a few hours of watching the Animal Planet and finishing that day’s samurai sudoko, her eyes chanced upon the colorful horoscope section. She read what was in store for people born under the sun sign Virgo. You have been stressed by the push-pull of responsibility these past weeks and you might be feeling bored. Now, you begin to see solutions to your dilemma as a fresh philosophical outlook on life can guide you into new realms of thinking. Stay indoors and try not to travel, for today is the day of accidents. Keep a steady course and don't let confusing signals stir up doubt. “Good Grief” exclaimed Monica , “I wonder how they knew I was bored”. She chuckled as she re read the line “Stay indoors and try not to travel, for today is the day of accidents”. So kk what do you think I have in store for sweet and s##** Monica ? The old,the new and the jumping heroes...

My Fair Lady : An old movie but just amazing .Watch the movie for Audrey Hepburn and this dialogue delivered by the Professor : Professor Henry Higgins: [singing] Women are irrational, that's all there is to that! Their heads are full of cotton, hay, and rags. They're nothing but exasperating, irritating, vacillating, calculating, agitating, maddening and infuriating hags! Clap Clap !! Bravo …. Wink wink Mi3: I found Ethan Hunt too emotional in this film.Sigh The special effects and the latest gadgets will keep you on the edge of your seats. Don’t miss the action on the bridge .Awesome. Oh I almost forgot...check out the running scene and the camera that follows him .....uff...WICKED. Krrish : The songs are good and I think I have repeated this a zillion times, Hrithik is at his best when he’s not delivering dialogues. All he has to do is stand in a corner looking at the cracks in the wall and the audience will love him but NO he’s got to dance and sing and yeah! jump over buildings. sigh*...our very own desi Spiderman and Superman !!The film is okitoki..but it has those “special scenes”, when Hrithik is trying to woo Priyanka , its then that you (audience) can go out get some popcorn and diet coke , cross my heart,you will not regret it. The special effects are commendable but when compared to MI3 ..lets not go there…I liked the song : main hoon woh aasman aur tum ho yeh zameen ho kar bhi hum juda hote juda nahi ~~ wah wah Kids and aunties will love it . I’ve kept the best for the last. Crash : I would like to thank Myths for insisting that I watch this movie.Vc bows, thank you. Crash is one cool and amazing movie, you have to watch it to enjoy it. I hope and pray that we get to see the Indian version soon. Of course someone might already be implementing it … FYI Crash is the Winner of 3 Oscars at the 2006 Academy Awards: · Best Picture · Film Editing · Writing (Original Screenplay) and Sandra is :) And the tag line : It's the sense of touch. In any real city, you walk, you know? You brush past people, people bump into you. In L.A., nobody touches you. We're always behind this metal and glass. I think we miss that touch so much, that we crash into each other, just so we can feel something.

My sis showed me a pic of my nephew Sid ( 2 months old) and I was mesmerized. The lil kid was wearing a checks shirt !! For the love of Pokemon checks!! She and my bil went on the defence..”Its designer checks and it’s the latest style” yeah right for professionals not toddlers……duh !! I bet 10 years down the line the kid would be browsing through the pics and chance upon this particular “checky” pic , raise his eyebrows and ask his mom “ Mommy !! please tell me this isn’t me “. Amoeba and Aphrodite! kids should be wearing this or this or definitely this .. I’ll send one designer Hanuman t shirt :)

And Camping we will go ....

How many of you are paid to write a post ?? None ? (Vc counts the notes …….) You guys know Dee ? areh my friend Venki’s sister, Muddy’s friend, Dee…yeah Mrs Dee.. Well she took 2 weeks off in April and went on a 10 day trek to the Himalayas courtesy http://www.yhaindia.org/ In her own words : “We really had a great time..Met a whole lot of people..and had loads of fun...It wasnt a very hard trek..in fact this particular route is one of the easiest.. Around 65 kms in 7 days..We started the trek from near Kulu at around 5000 ft..Went all the way up to Saurkundi Pass at 13,500 ft..then descended back.. “ I know for a fact that there were no palanquin bearers.“This was truly a 5 star trek..They really feed us well :) We had really good company.. “ It seems when they camped at night, the local people would pitch small makeshift shops and woo the campers with a variety of tantalizing local dishes. Psst she was hoping she would loose weight alas it was the other way.(wink wink) “We would start everyday at 9..after good breakfast..trek for an hr or two and break..then trek till lunch time..have the packed lunch..relax for an hr..and start..again.. We would reach the higher camp around 4..they would give us a refreshing welcome drink..then tea and pakodas :) Then a yummy 4 course dinner at 7:30..after which we wd have a camp fire.” See its all eat,drink and make merry. “People would do just abt anything to entertain themselves..sing dance.. shaayarii vagera vagera..The nights were fun.. Struggling inside our sleeping bags in the packed tents :) “ Yeah I’ll tell you why ..because 20 ladies were bundled into a single TENT and it seems she had to snuggle up with that BMW chick.( wink wink). Her words “huddling close with the bmw girl for warmth “ But I was more interested in the “ would do just about anything to entertain themselves” anything ??? cough cough…. Of course the trek also had white water rafting ( 2 members had a close call with nature and please don’t read it as nature’s call), rock climbing , singing duets ,drinking the local arrack and meeting a whole lot of friendly people. The beautiful temples and natural hot springs on the way are simple indescribable. And in this place called Manikaran ,ppl put rice in pots and put it in the hot springs aitha after 20 mins it gets cooked. I must admit the pics that she shared were awesome and they did remind me of the film Roja. The cost of the TREK =Rs 1,900 ( One thousand Nine hundred only) .Ofcourse the AC Train ,the return flight back home ( transportation), the local noodles,egg burjji, arrack has not been included.

I was talking to Kk about assuming stuff and I couldn’t find a suitable word to express what I was trying to say. I knew I had read that word in Dan Brown's “The Da Vinci Code” and so I searched for the book, online . After rattling the google for a few seconds I found the book here . The next step was to recall in which “Scene/Chapter" the word was used......I knew it was when Teabing, Lagdon and Sophie are discussing about the Holy Grail. Scroll scroll read read ........BINGO Sophie could not take her eyes from the woman beside Christ. The Last Supper is supposed to be thirteen men. Who is this woman? Although Sophie had seen this classic image many times, she had not once noticed this glaring discrepancy. “Everyone misses it,” Teabing said. “Our preconceived notions of this scene are so powerful that our mind blocks out the incongruity and overrides our eyes.” “It’s known as skitoma,” Langdon added. “The brain does it sometimes with powerful symbols.” Skitoma and preconceived notions ........but skitoma was a typo and is in fact scotoma. So what am I proving here ........ all I am saying is that Bandidas is one cool chik flick :) HELLO!! it has Penelope Cruz( check out her nose) and Salma Hayek (cough cough).

A note to Mr. Priyadarshan, director of the film Chup Chup ke. Sir , I have seen almost all of your films including Hulchul , Maala Maal weekly and the recently released Chup Chup ke. A few questions on Chup Chup ke.. 1.Did the cast in the above mentioned movies sign a bond that they would act in all your films? (You see for the first 30 minutes I thought I was watching Maala Maal weekly but infact it was Chup Chup ke ...scared the hell-of-out me). 2.Why do you really like WHITE, is it because of the color or because it’s plain cheap?(All the men were in white, thank God the ladies were not clad in white). 3.The first song sequence was in the second half of the film.Why ? (No Naach Gaana ?? Hindi film and no songs..eeeew ) 4.Shahid Kapur’s liner ‘mujhe dhokebaaz mat kaho’ was amazing.( cough cough I don’t think he said anything else ..did he ?) . 5.Hats off for giving Rajpal Yadav an amazing role. (I remember his energy and sense of timing…….clap clap..superb. Watch this film for “ Rajpal Yadav “ I will be surprised if he doesn’t get nominated for “Best performance in a comic role” ). 6.I have never seen any of Neha Dhupia’s previous films, but in this movie she was WOW. ( We were looking more at Neha than at Kareena,wink wink) 7.Was Shushma Reddy really required ? (She was one of Channel V’s VJ’s a long long time ago.) 8.I loved the character that Kareena Kapoor played in this film. No words can describe that performance. ( She plays the role of a dumb girl, cheeky smile) The film is funny in parts and the people sitting behind us were having a blast and it was sort of infectious. Watch it with friends (who can laugh out loud). ______________________________________________ I have read a few Legal Thrillers including Perry Mason and a lot of other guys who have not been able to make an impact on me. The Client (the hero is an 11 year old boy!!) and the Runaway Jury are wonderful and David Baldacci is another favorite. But they lacked that …sting. Then I chanced upon Proof of Intent - William J. Coughlin. It is one of the most thrilling and funny books I have read this year. It’s in first-person narration (my favorite) and the characters are depicted wonderfully. The plot is simple but the last chapter is downright fantastic. Pick it up today……

Call me a chauvinistic owl but I admit that I hate to lose to someone with the xx chromosome. I remember this one incident , the year being 2003, when I was sort of…sigh* ok ok I was beaten in a game of chess by a lil girl named Anna. There ..sigh* now I feel better. ;) It was one of those boring days, when (ping) I get a “challenge” message from a lil 17 year old girl. I smile, this is going to be like eating roasted peanuts.yummy. 31 moves and 3 minutes later, Checkmate, game over.Anna sends a smile. I was too stunned to react. That lil girl beat me !! I gather my wits and challenge her, I pray that she will accept it. She does. The second game is attention-grabbing and we play it safe. The game is interrupted by a colleague wondering if I was interested in a cup coffee.I glare at him, he backs off.I lose a rook. I swear aloud and startle my manager. I win that game. I chat with Anna, she’s a Russian and her grandfather was a former Grand Master. Score 1-1. I challenge her to a last game, the decider. She agrees. That last game was the best game I ever played. When I uttered the magic words Checkmate, the board was empty but for her king and a rook, my King, a strategically placed soldier and a very tired looking knight. I was elated .She smiled and vanished from my screen, never to be seen again.*sigh +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
